Mr Eazi shares video for Panadol single
Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has released the attendant video to his single ‘Panadol’.
The video herald the one-year anniversary of the release of his debut album The Evil Genius, which arrived last October and currently boasts over 45 million streams.
Filmed in London and directed by Mollana Burke for JM Films (Beyoncé, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Stormzy), the video, which deploys a playful narrative, amplifies the track’s themes of pleasure, ease, and savouring the moment.
The track itself was recorded in Benin, and produced by Type A (Fireboy DML, Wretch 32, Amaarae), who also produced ‘Good Lovin’ and ‘Zuzulakate’ from the album.
Driven by lively percussion drums, resonant bass guitar, and lush synths, and held together by Mr Eazi’s laid-back delivery, ‘Panadol’ captures the essence of finding relief in love and music, much like the soothing effects of the pain reliever Panadol.
Mr Eazi is reportedly readying the release of more singles in the coming months, and an EP before the end of the year.
A 2024 African Prosperity Champions Award winner, Mr Eazi, behind the mixtapes Life Is Eazi Vol. 1: Accra To Lagos and Life Is Eazi Vol. 2: Lagos To London, is one half of ChopLife Sound System, a collaboration with UK-based Kenyan DJ Edu.
He is also behind the emPawa Africa initiative, catering to artist development, distribution and label services. In April, the artist announced the launch of the iGaming platform Choplife.ci for the Ivorian market.
According to a statement, beyond music, Mr Eazi “remains committed to his philanthropic efforts and community projects, with a particular focus on supporting young creatives and entrepreneurs through the rest of 2024.”
