SA’s Lady Zamar to headline Botswana fest
South African singer Lady Zamar will headline the 2018 edition of Lobatse International Beef Festival (LIBF) in Lobatse, Botswana, on 30 June.
LIBF will feature Lobatse's Sauce DJ, a competition where upcoming DJs will be afforded the opportunity to showcase their talent. Local musicians are also expected to perform at the event. Among the artists announced on the line-up so far is local singer Motlha.
“I will be rocking you guys with all your favourite songs and it’s going to be epic. I can’t wait to see you guys,” Lady Zamar said in a video posted on the LIBF Facebook page.
Lady Zamar shot to fame when she teamed up with Junior Taurus on the Cotton Candy album in 2015. This year she won a SAMA in the Best Dance Album category for her 14-track solo offering King Zamar.
The festival organisers said they expected much from this year's event.
“Whether you are a food lover in search of a tasty and hearty feast or out with friends or family, this year’s LIBF is sure to exceed expectations, as the event is promising revellers a culinary adventure coupled with premium entertainment," they said.
“Giving back to the community of Lobatse is something we intend to do a great deal of. We are committed to our purpose of ensuring we remain the storytellers of Botswana’s rich heritage. We hope to set the precedent for other major events to follow suit in the spirit of community upliftment.”
LIBF was first held in 2013 to promote local meat products as well as notable artists from Botswana and abroad. The event also endorses the town of Lobatse as an investment destination.
Tickets to LIBF are available via Webtickets.
