Warner Music Africa and Lupita Nyong’o partner for Mind Your Own podcast
Warner Music Africa has announced a partnership with award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o on her upcoming podcast, Mind Your Own.
According to a statement, the podcast is set to feature “vibrant sounds of Warner Music Africa’s artists with insightful conversations that explore the personal narratives of African identity from the perspective of Africans in the diaspora.”
“Warner Music Africa is proud to unveil a significant musical partnership with @lupitanyongo’s highly anticipated podcast, Mind Your Own,” Warner Music Africa announced on Instagram on Monday.
“All 10 episodes are available to listen to now, and episode one features the ‘Show My Side’ single by @ckay_yo and @amaarae.”
From soulful rhythms to Afrobeats, the podcast will include songs from artists from the continent such as Congolese-South African rapper Rouge, Nigerian artists Somadina and Layzee Ella, as well as South Africa’s and Kiddo CSA.
On Mind Your Own, Lupita Nyong’o will delve deep into themes of family, culture shock and the unique challenges faced by Africans navigating life on a global stage.
“The podcast series aims to inspire and provoke thought, offering listeners a unique perspective through a rich journey of diverse stories that reflect the complex and multi-faceted nature of African identity,” the statement added.

Mind Your Own is available on all major podcast platforms, with curated playlists featuring the artists available on major streaming services.
The series is produced by KQED’s Snap Studios, which are known for producing podcast series such as Snap Judgment and Spooked.
