Musta4a joins Sony Music Publishing West Africa
Nigeria-headquartered Sony Music Publishing West Africa (SMPWA) has announced the addition of Afropop act Musta4a to its roster.
“We are excited about the new sounds and incredible writing he is going to bring to the music industry,” the Godwin Tom-led company said on 10 December about Musta4a, whom it praised for an “enchanting and soul-stirring sound” that has “captivated audiences worldwide.”
The deal means that Musta4a joins a growing lineup of recent signings at SMPWA, including Rozzz, JORDANSTYLS, Vector and Skales.
Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Musta4a’s craft is characterised by smooth vocals, confident flows, and impressive lyrical skill. His technical models include Burna Boy, Odunsi (The Engine), and Cruel Santino.
An alumnus of the Music Business Academy (MBA) for Africa Talent Project, Musta4a is behind releases such as ‘Philo’, ‘Pressure / Magic’, 'Distance' and the Serenade, Vol. 1 EP.
Sony Music Publishing is home to notable African artists including Wizkid, Tems and Sarkodie, as well as Ghanaian label Lynx Entertainment, home to acts like KiDi, Adina, DJ Vyrusky, Kasar and DSL.
Earlier this year, SMPWA revealed that it would represent the works of fuji greats K1 De Ultimate, Saheed Osupa, Adewale ‘Mr Johnson’ Ayuba and the late Ayinde Barrister, as well as the late indigenous rapper Dagrin.
