Mr Makoya

Born Strauss Lunyangwe in Windhoek, Namibia, Mr Makoya began his music career with the now defunct Matongo Family at a tender age of 13. He began as a solo artist in 2009. His debut album was released in 2010. In 2011, he launched a second album called ‘Final Warning’. The ten-track album is a fusion of English, Silozi and Afrikaans songs. The album features songs such as ‘Turastyle’, ‘Hello Ma Baby’ and many others. The album had appearances of well-known acapella outfit, Lady Smith Black Mambazo. During that same year, he shot his ‘Mama and Papa’ music video.
On 28 February 2014, he hosted a party for the release of his third studio album ‘Bly In Jou Baan’ at LQ lounge in Khomasdal Groove. In March 2015, he launched his Tura Style label known TS FILMS, a music and video production company. Apart from music, he owns a clothing line called Turastyle. He is also the owner Turastyle Music Production.
