Sam Simakweli Chavula

Bio

Sam Chavula is an Afro-pop artist from Malawi. He was born in Blantyre. He joined the music business at the age of five. At that age, he was able to play his home-made tin guitar. At the age of ten, he joined the church choir and became a vocalist and keyboard player. In his early 20's, he became a member of Sir Lucius Banda’s Zembani Band.

Shortly afterwards, he went solo and began working on his music projects. This saw him releasing his maiden album called ‘Kasitepe’ which featured the song ‘Ungodikira’. The album was produced by Taps Bandawe of Matalala Records. Since then, Sam never stopped recording, he released two more albums namely ‘Kaunjika’ and Chako'. Songs such as ‘Sichibale’, ‘Chako’, ‘Dziko’ and ‘Silira’ featured on the albums. .
