Watch: ‘Kasyoki Wa Mutumba’ by Serro
Kenyan singer Serro has released a video for her single ‘Kasyoki Wa Mutumba’ on YouTube.
The video shows the artist stalk and seek attention from Kasyoki, a second-hand clothes seller. Kasyoki seems unbothered by her advances, but he eventually gives in.
The song partially borrows its rhythm and melody from benga song ‘Rose Watwa Wa Kisumu’ by musician Kenya Sammy Wambua popularly known as Kilunda.
“I’ve always wanted to write a song inspired by Kamba pop, but it had to be not too serious," Serro said. "So I decided to go with a cheeky love story. When people listen to this song, I hope it will make them smile, maybe leave them in stitches, and remind them of that special someone.”
‘Kasyoki Wa Mutumba’ is Serro’s second release in 2019 after the release of ‘Ya Dunia’ in May, and the fourth single off her soon to be released album Kuwe.
