Sir Edi
Bio
Sir Edi, born Motloang Mohale on the 17th November 1992, is a Lesotho record producer, vocalist and songwriter. Sir Edi is best known for his versatility, having crafted some of the most daring music pieces of our time. His style is a fusion on nu school Hip Hop, Jazz, Afro Fusion and RnB.
In 2010, Sir Edi taught himself how to make beats using the popular music creation software, FL Studio. He often notes quitting the software as he used to find it somewhat difficult to understand. A few weeks of trial and error would prove crucial in his career, as he got a breakthrough and discovered how to construct his first drum arrangement, and from there everything changed.
Growing up, Sir Edi always had a musical gift, as he started out beating anything from tin cans to classroom desks with his friends to compose beats they’d freestyle on during playtime. “For me, music had always just been close to my heart, never once did I think I’d be an internationally recognized record producer,” Sir Edi states.
He has produced numerous hits and classics both locally and internationally, with his most notable work having been with Malome Vector, Megahertz, L-Tore, Skebza D, Civy C-del, Chuky TheOutcome, The Official R.I.T.C.H.I.E, DRE etc. Sir Edi is responsible for such hits as Malome Vector’s “Nunu Berry”, Malome Vector and Megahertz’s “The Whole Time”, Malome Vector’s “Miss Me”, L-Tore featuring Skebz D and JijiF’s “Re Monate”, Civy C-del’s “Lira Galore” and Chuky TheOutcome’s “Mans Winning” amongst others.
In 2013, Sir Edi got his first international placement when he produced a mixtape for Los Angeles based Rapper, Producer and Sound Engineer, Remy Jacuzzi. In 2016, he produced for Canadian Rapper, Civy C-del’s mixtape, the Civilian, and has since been collaborating on music with the 2017 Unsigned Hype, Toronto songwriters runner up. They are currently working on a joint album, and the follow up to the 2016 hit EP, The Civilian 2.
Sir Edi is always eager to work with all aspiring artists, helping to build their brands and sound.
