Klara Ana Rosa, MaSibanda

Klara Ana Rosa (Wojtkowska) is a Polish musician, director, writer, storyteller/actor and teacher. She holds a B.A. in Literature from Rice University, a B.Music in Violin Performance from the Shepherd School of Music (Rice University), a M.A. in African Studies from Yale University, and is currently working on her PhD in Anthropology through UNISA. She is also a graduate of Poland's Radio Theatre Directing Program, the ARSHARTER School of Theatre in Krakow, Poland, and has spent the past few years studying traditional ceremony, medicine singing, and healing in various traditions on four continents. Her plays have been performed and awarded in the USA, Canada, Poland, and Zimbabwe. She is the founder and director of Mhondoro Dreams Ceremony Productions and School, which produced the movie NZARA-HUNGER in 2020 - presented and honored at Poland's prestigious Festiwal Filmów Fabularnych in Gdynia in 2021. She is also director of the Nyamatsatse Festival in Zimbabwe (www.facebook.com/nyamatsatsefestival). She is the author of 'Wild Medicine: a Journey to Zimbabwe', 'Ceremony Theatre', 'The Star Ceremony', 'Teatr Ceremonii', and 'Będziemy się za was Modlić: z Polski do Zimbabwe ścieżkami Przodków', as well as various music albums (spotify: Klara Ana Rosa). Her work revolves around ceremony theatre which combines traditional environmentalism and old mythologies, in order to create new and living stories and ceremonies.
