Bio
Lauren Hendricks is a young and vibrant South African musician and is best known as one of Cape Town's next generation of top musicians specializing in many genres ranging from Jazz,Pop,Soul and many more genres . With over 10 years experience in the music scene locally and internationally Lauren has made her mark in the industry .She has collaborated and performed with the likes of Shannon Mowday (RSA/NOR), Ida Gormson(DEN), Prof Mike Rossi(USA) , Prof Darryl Andrews, Susanna Stivali (ITA), Paulo Costa (BRA) and many more. She has graced the stages of Oslo Jazz Festival , Arcevia Jazz Fest Italy, National Youth Jazz Festival, Grandwest Arena to name a few.
Lauren has also a love and passion for music education and the creative arts. She has worked with many NGO organizations such Applauze Arts Initiative , Performing Arts Network of Southern Africa , South African Jazz Education , Western Cape Street Children's Forum where she played the role of performer and stage assistant to her mentor at the time . When she is not busy gigging in and around South Africa Lauren spends her time being a Vocal lecturer and educator at various schools and performing arts colleges.
Lauren is known for collaborating with creatives by producing photography and videography content with her business “InframeCPT”. Within a year of starting her business she has won the Standard Bank Arts photography competition for “Sounds and Music” and been involved in numerous projects such as the Tefo Mahola live Album, Sean Sanby live album and The Commons Festival 2022 and 2023. In 2022 she launched her own creative project called “South African Jazz In Frame” where she hosted her first exhibition and live performance at Youngblood Africa Gallery creating a much needed voice for artists in the industry. After completing her Masters degree in Jazz Studies in 2023 from the University of Cape Town she returns to the stage while collaborating with other creatives in the industry.
