LaVeda

LaVeda Sax is a Tanzanian singer and saxophonist based in Dar es Salaam.

She grew up in Switzerland and France and completed her studies in the UK. With her Western influences from Europe and Tanzanian roots, listening to both African music and western; LaVeda creates a fusion of sounds in her music. Sounds of accoustic, jazz, classical, traditional, rumba and more.

Laveda volunteered at the NGO Nafasi Art Space in Events and Marketing and Business Development. She also served as a Cultural Coordinator at the Alliance Francaise later on. This enriched her cultural aspect.both in visual and performing arts. She has demonstrated her musical skills by playing the saxophone in various corporate events and opening ceremonies. Eventually, she initiated the Music Therapy in hospitals with Laveda Sax Gala which brings all saxophonists of the city together and share one stage to perform together. The aim was to raise awareness and funds for patients with long-life-incurable diseases.

LaVeda Sax, the multilingual artist in Swahili, English, French, hopes to propel her career as an African recording artist and saxophonist in the continent and beyond. With her music found on all digital platforms get ready to enjoy the musical journey.
