Lorenz Herrmann

Lorenz Herrmann aka Semo Lo is a renowned cultural entrepreneur, musician and music manager based in Zanzibar, Tanzania. As one of the founding members of Stone Town Records he has helped setting the pace of the cultural scene in Zanzibar, empowering upcoming artists from the urban and traditional scene alike. His flagship project, Siti & The Band, has been making waves touring all over the continent the last two years. His organisation “Creative Education and Empowerment Zanzibar” has been supporting the arts in Zanzibar and beyond, channeling support from HIVOS International, Native Instruments, Pro Helvetica and other institutions to fuel the creative industry. His and his artists works have been featured on BBC World, CNN Inside Africa, RFI, Pan-African-Music, Global Voices, Music In Africa and The Citizen Newspaper.
