Lusindiso “LusiBlaq” Mbangwa’s BIOGRAPHY
Lusindiso Mbangwa (25) also known as ‘’LusiBlaq” is an Ancestral Jazz recording artist.
Ancestral Jazz is a musical component that mixes Umombelo, Umngqungqo, Imilozi, Traditional authentic rhythm, Afro-pop /Soul, and Reggae. Lusiblaq was born in the Eastern Cape in East London, eMdantsane- and relocated to Cape Town in 2016?
LusiBlaq’s sound portrays and utters mainly social issues, and struggles that are faced by the less privileged. His music is predominantly in isiXhosa, his mother tongue, and speaks to issues of culture, faith & identity for his people.
He grew up listening to heavyweights like Ringo Madlingozi, Sliq Angel, Thandiswa Mazwai, Simphiwe Dana, and many more artists who inspired his sound.
Growing up, Lusindiso was an energetic and very active boy who enjoyed entertaining people. Back in primary school, he did Ballroom dance and Cha-Cha dance, he was also participating in sports played cricket, and soccer & was the youngest in the school choir.
LusiBlaq has a solid foundation of choral and classical music, having been part of choirs from primary school till his final year in high school- this gives enhanced his classic vocals.
When he was in Grade 5, to stay out of the streets he decided to focus on Dance to avoid peer pressure and substance abuse, he joined a dance group called Black Ink Dance Crew and started performing for big audiences. He grew up as the only boy in the house, so he would spend his time with his sisters reading magazines and checking the clothes that’s when he developed a love for modeling.
He then went on to do his research about clothes, he found out that you can express yourself and feel positive only by wearing what your heart desires.
He did modeling in High School and participated in a lot of Fashion Shows, ELFW "East London Fashion Walk", UmswenkoExperience, and Eastern Cape Africa hair and beauty week. He then decided to go to Joburg to pursue his modeling career after matric because he couldn't go to varsity. Later that year he got scouted by 3DMODELS AGENCY which is based in Cape Town...
He continued his love for music where He took a decision in 2016 to make his music a full-time career with the help of Ayabonga Nohe "Skylar Smago"(now social media manager) and Solomzi Senantsi "Jblaq” (his producer). He released his first single titled "YOU".
The song had great feedback, and LusiBlaq the singer & songwriter, was born into the music scene.
With the feedback and the success of his first single Lusiblaq was motivated to offer another song. With the support from Yiisound and JBlaqStudiosEnt, he released his 2nd Single titled MME (music my escape). He was then recognized by Neo Machaea ( now Manager) who’s an event organizer, he saw the potential of LusiBlaq then he offered to manage him and reach out to all the opportunities out there.
