Msiz'kay

Msiz'kay is a Zimbabwean artist, producer, songwriter, and poet.

Msiz’kay is a pioneer of a style of music he describes as "Something Afro", a blend of Hip Hop which fuses Hip Hop, R n B and Pop with various traditional African music elements to come up with a unique sound. This coupled with his different approach to song writing is what sets him apart as an artist. #SomethingAfro is characterised by unique beats, deep lyrics, electric flows and catchy hooks.

Msiz'kay is a 2017 Bulawayo Arts Awards Song of the Year nominee, 2017 Skyz Metro Fm Best Hip Hop Song nominee, a 2018 Bulawayo Arts Awards nominee for Outstanding Hip Hop Artist/Act, 2020 Zimbabwe Music Awards Best Sound Engineer. Msiz’kay was nominated for Best Video, Best Collaboration and Song of the Year in the 2020 Zim Hip Hop awards for his “Asipheli Moya” collaboration with Asaph, “Asipheli Moya” was also nominated for Best Video in the 2021 Zimbabwe Music Awards, and Msiz'kay was nominated for "Best Alternative" and "Best Afro Fusion/Afro Post" in the 2023 Zimbabwe Music Awards.

Releases:

Msiz’kay has a put out three albums, Bazovuma which came out in November 2017, Bayashiselwa which came out in April 2019 and Sizalobuhle which recently came out on the 24th of June 2022. In the year 2020 Msiz'kay released two singles “Ngawuzw’ Umoya Wami” released on the 15th of May 2020, and “Dankie Ngiyabonga” released on the 25th of December 2020. In 2021 Msiz'kay has currently released two singles “Ngisemathandweni” which was released on the 12 February 2021 and #NgokwakithiLokhu which was released on the 30th of July 2021.

Collaborations:

In Zimbabwe Msiz'kay has collaborated with numerous artists including Asaph, Awa Khiwe, Bhekiwe, CTL, Dj Fritz, Fish F Ndaramu, Hwabaraty, Ishan, K.O.D, La Dee, Mbo Mahocs, MJ Sings, Mzoe7, PD The Ghost, Sandra Ndebele, Vusa Mkhaya and X Mile, to mention but a few.

Msiz’kay has also collaborated with artists from outside Zimbabwe on numerous releases including “Siyeza” with Angolan Dj/Producer Dj Satelite which came out in 2020, “Happy” where he worked with Brazilian platinum recording producer Vintage Culture together with Brazilian hit making producers Fancy Inc and Drunky Daniels released in November 2020. In 2021 Msiz'kay collaborated with Brazilian production duo Rozzen Music on song titled "Find Me" released under Sony Music Brazil, “OnlyYou/WenaWedwa” and “Baleka” with producer/Dj Raul Bryan from Botswana both on Raul Bryan's 2021 #Reality Album, and also with Brazilian producer Dj Soldera on a dance banger titled “Say My Name”.
