Nnamdi E Ogbonna
Bio
ONEOFAFRICA is the last child of the royal house of Nzemanyiri of Isuochi in Abia state, Eastern Nigeria. He is the son of chief and lolo vincent ogbonna from the house of Nzemanyiri. He was born on 11 December 1987 in Benin City, Edo state. He is a graduate of the University of Nigeria's Archy-Tourism/Sociology department.
He started music at the age of 12 with influences from Big Pun, KRS-One, Method Man, Heavy D, Tevin Campbell, Will Smith, LL Cool J and Shaba Ranks, among others. His 2010 single 'King in Me' reached No. 1 on an online UK radio chat (street jam UK). In 2014, he was appointed assistant to former US consul general Thomas R. Hutson, who was a mentor and father to him.
In 2020, he signed a record deal with Done Deal International as its first international artist. 'Ikenga' is his first hit single with the record label, a song about a young african king who disguises himself as a peasant young man in search of love and found it in the arms of a slave girl in a far away village, showing her his true identity and making her his queen. All four of his singles are available on all digital music platforms, including 'Abasiayaya', 'American Dreamer', and 'Chai God'.
