Apple Music ranks top African artists, albums and tracks
Apple Music has released top-10 lists of the most popular artists, albums, songs and playlists from South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
The streaming service also released stats on the most loved international artists on the continent.
Black Coffee, Nasty C, Burna Boy, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Sjava and Sun-El Musician are the continent's biggest artists, while Ed Sheeran, Drake and Khalid are African listeners' preferred international artists.
South Africa's top artists are Nasty C, Joyous Celebration, AKA, Sjava, Cassper Nyovest, Mlindo The Vocalist, Black Coffee, Goldfish, Snotkop and Sun-El Musician, while the most listened-to songs include ‘Drive’ (Black Coffee & David Guetta ft. Delilah Montagu), ‘Deep of the Night’ (Goldfish ft. Diamond Thug), ‘Collide’ (Lady Zamar), ‘Banomoya’ (Prince Kaybee ft. Busisiwa & TNS) and ‘Spirit’ (Kwesta ft. Wale).
Top SA albums include Nasty C's Strings and Bling, Mlindo The Vocalist's Emakhaya, AKA's Touch My Blood, Sjava's Umqhele and Shekhinah's Rose Gold.
Meanwhile, Apple Music's top playlists include Mzansi House, Afrobeats Hits, Mzansi Hip-Hop, Afrikaanse Treffers, Gqom Nation, danceXL, Chill House and The A-List: Hip-Hop, among others.
