Audiomack and Transsion ink deal for African market

The Chinese-owned Transsion Holdings manufactures popular smartphone brands such as Tecno, Infinix and Itel. The partnership seeks to drive the growing need for a tech-enabled entertainment platform in the Nigerian music market. It will allow access to Audiomack’s stream of music and playlist selections.

Audiomack says it has democratised music streaming by making it available to all. This approach has resulted in significant organic growth for the app among its highly engaged users.

“We are truly excited at the prospects of this partnership to offer the best and hottest new music through a mix of real-time trending, top charts and expertly curated playlists to the Transsion smartphone users,” Audiomack Africa head of business development and partnerships Charlotte Bwana said.

Transsion Audience Network regional manager for West Africa Mojisola Adenusi said. “We are delighted with this collaboration to drive Audiomack’s expansion across key markets in Africa.

With a presence in all 54 African countries, Audiomack says it is committed to promoting young local talent on the continent by investing capital and knowledge resources into African culture and communities.

In July, the audio distribution platform partnered with Chinese-owned ACRCloud on a new music content-filtering system. The partnership will see ACRCloud’s copyright protection technology used to scan newly uploaded music to Audiomack.

Founded in 2012, Audiomack lets artists share mixtapes, songs and albums. It is an on-demand streaming service. Offline playback is free to all users and not blocked by a paywall. The company has reached more than 1.5 million daily active users across its platforms.
