Call for application: Creatives training programme in Nairobi
The Creatives Business and Professional Skills Empowerment Training Programme for the creative industries in Nairobi will take place on 8 June 2019 at the Technical University of Kenya, from 9am to 4pm.
The programme, which will be held monthly for the next six months, has been organised by the Centre for Creative and Cultural Industries (CCCI) of the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) in collaboration with JENGA CCI - Global Project Culture and Creative Industries.
“The aim is to enhance the capacity of practitioners, encourage collaboration, and improve creative output. Facilitators will be drawn from experienced practitioners in the arts and business world,” the press release reads.
The training will also support the sustainable development and promotion of the cultural and creative industries through integrative education and financing strategies, as well as the promotion of interest representation for the sector.
The training will cover the following topics:
- Basic business and professional skills, encompassing arts marketing
- Product appreciation
- Communication skills
- Managing your finances
- Customer relations
- Business planning
- Connectivity and networking
- Arts and the law
Kindly note that entry will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
The program is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Goethe-Institut, who are promoting the future markets of the cultural and creative industries in Africa and the Middle East.
