Call for applications: African Culture Fund executive director
The African Culture Fund (ACF), a pan-African organisation registered and based in Bamako, Mali, is accepting applications for an executive director position.
The ideal candidate will primarily execute the ACF's activities, implement the strategic action plan defined by its board of directors and mobilise resources for the benefit of the fund.
The ACF seeks to support the cultural and creative sector in all African countries through:
- The financing of artistic and creative projects through calls for proposals.
- Raising funds for the operation of the fund from private sources and local and international public.
- Support for the promotion of the activities of the fund and its beneficiaries at regional and global.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
- Hold at least a masters of the second level in economics, management sciences, public administration, political science, cultural management, development studies or a related field. A complimentary diploma in the field of arts and culture will be an asset.
- Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in a position of responsibility in the field of management, finance, trade, development, cultural management, or similar functions.
- Have a good understanding of development issues in Africa, budget management, and proven experience in resources mobilisation and strategic partnerships.
- Have the ability to apply innovative approaches, manage a team and apply new methods to solve problems, while remaining effective in a global framework characterised by speed, change and challenges to overcome.
- Have perfect command (oral and written) of French and English.
- Have proven experience in preparing narrative and financial reports as well as fundraising reports.
- Have high integrity, passion for excellence and excellent interpersonal skills, communication and analysis.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and independently.
- Have the ability to dialogue and negotiate with donors, regional and international organisations.
- Have relevant experience in the use of computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheets and multimedia applications.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Research, develop and propose projects aimed at giving content and programmatic coherence to vision, mission and objectives of the fund.
- Oversee the selection and funding procedures of submitted projects.
- Implement fundraising strategies and activities to raise funds from the private sector and international institutions.
- Research, establish and sustain strategic partnerships with local, national and international service providers and donors.
- Preserve and promote the image of the fund.
- Preserve and promote constructive and mutually beneficial relationships, especially with the main donors of the fund.
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies to ensure sustainability longevity of the fund and its organs.
- Ensure the establishment and application of control systems and financial management in a specific way and general compliance with manual administrative and financial procedures.
- Supervise all communication operations.
- Represent the fund in the media, at public forums and conferences/forums/seminars/events at national and international level.
- Approve public documents, press releases and any other form of media that engage the fund in the public domain.
- Ensure good governance and development of the fund's structure.
