Call for applications: CEC ArtsLink residency in the US
International arts organisation CEC ArtsLink is inviting contemporary artists, arts leaders and curators from all arts disciplines in Egypt to apply for its ArtsLink International Fellowship programme in the US from early October to mid-November 2022.

CEC ArtsLink prioritises applicants whose social practices seek to actively engage communities on issues related to the current climate emergency and human rights. CEC ArtsLink individually curates each fellowship, which is hosted by US non-profit arts organisations across the country and covers all living, working, travel and health insurance costs.
Fellows will also receive up to three years of support through the initial six-week residency, a follow-up project in the US (separate proposal) and subsequently a project in the fellow's home country (separate proposal).
Residency schedule:
- Year one: a hosted virtual six-week research residency.
- Year two: a project in the US.
- Year three: a project in the fellow’s home country with US collaborators.
Eligibility
- Contemporary artists, arts leaders and curators whose work is informed by community engagement processes or social practice.
- Applicants must be citizens of and should reside in Egypt.
- Undergraduate students, amateur and research scholars as well as ArtsLink fellows and alumni are ineligible.
- Arts leaders and curators must be affiliated with an arts organisation in the non-commercial sector or work as independent arts professional.
- Artists seeking placement in commercial firms are also ineligible.
Requirements
- A completed ArtsLink International Fellowship online application form.
- A recent CV or resume (one-page PDF).
- A letter of recommendation (one-page PDF).
Applicants who are applying as arts leaders or curators must submit a one-page PDF file with a description of their organisation in English. They should also include information about staff size and resources.
For large files, applicants should use Dropbox or WeTransfer. Applicants can also submit their YouTube, SoundCloud or Vimeo links. Artists who prefer to use Dropbox or WeTransfer to send a large file must provide an external link accompanied by the file’s description.
Note:
- There is no age limit.
- Incomplete applications and samples submitted without proper descriptions will not be considered.
