Call for applications: Goethe-Institut Co-production Fund
Goethe-Institut is now accepting applications for the 2018 International Co-production Fund.
The funding is intended for co-productions by artists in the fields of theatre, dance, music and performance art, in which hybrid and interdisciplinary formats and the use of digital media may be key components.
Founded in 2016, the fund seeks to promote new professional networks and approaches within a global context and support the unrestricted international and intercultural exchange of artists and their ideas.
The deadline for applications is 30 April 2018 (midnight CAT) and successful applicants will be notified in June.
Funding
The amount of funding requested should not exceed €25 000 and should be used only as a secondary source of funding, mainly to help cover travel expenses.
Eligibility
- Applicants should be professional artists, ensembles and initiatives in Germany and abroad that demonstrably lack sufficient resources to bring their co-production project to fruition on their own.
- The application must be jointly submitted with a foreign partner and must show that a good working relationship already exists and that both parties are interested in building a joint production together.
- Preference will be given to projects between German and non-European partners, particularly from transition countries.
Criteria
To be considered, the project should:
- Embrace only the performing arts (no outright film or exhibition projects).
- Be a balanced partnership, not dominated by one partner.
- Allow for at least one performance to be given in one of the participating countries, ideally in other countries as well.
Applicants should highlight the following:
- The project’s artistic quality.
- The project’s innovative potential in the form and content of the collaboration.
- The relevance of the participating artists in their respective scenes.
- The budget indicating project partners’ own contributions and a solid financial plan.
- The project’s potential to contribute significantly to current social discourse.
Kindly note that applications that are incomplete or submitted late will not be processed.
