
Call for entries: 2020 JCS International Young Creatives Awards
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is accepting entries for the 2020 JCS International Young Creatives Award competition for young creatives.
- The deadline for submissions is 1 October.
The annual awards are designed to discover, recognise and foster young talent from around the world.
Interested individuals are required to submit an original one-minute video on the theme of the year, Stand Up for Peace – Everyday Heroes in These Troubled Times. The video must be submitted in English (produced, dubbed or subtitled). There is no entry fee to submit a video into the competition.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a membership-based organisation comprised of leading media and entertainment figures from all sectors of TV, including internet, mobile and technology. The academy's yearly schedule of events includes the International Emmy Awards, International Emmy Kids Awards, and a series of industry events such as Academy Day.
The academy accepts entries in the following categories:
- Arts programming.
- Current affairs.
- Comedy.
- Documentary.
- Drama series.
- News.
- Non-scripted entertainment.
- Short-form series.
- Telenovela and TV movie/mini-series.
Requirements
The applicant must:
- Be a non-US citizen (dual citizens are eligible).
- Be above 18 years of age.
- Not have reached his/her 30th birthday as of 31 December 2020.
- Not be affiliated to any staff member of JCS International and/or of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
- Be the creator(s) of the video.
Note:
- Use of unauthorised copyrighted material is not acceptable. Participants are responsible for obtaining any and all releases and consents necessary to permit use and exploitation of the video, prior to submission.
- Material that has previously been sold or is currently under option may not be submitted.
- Individual participants may enter multiple videos. However, only one of their videos can be selected for the final round.
- Past award winners are not eligible.
- Commercials and/or any content created to promote a brand or service are ineligible.
- The academy reserves the right not to accept any programme deemed unsuitable. The ruling of the academy is final.
The deadline for submissions is 1 October 2020 (12pm EST).
Important dates
- Public online voting – 9 to 16 October 2020.
- Finalists announced – 28 October 2020.
- Final round of judging – November 2020.
- Winners announced – November 2020.
