Call for entries: Artist On The Rise competition in SA

Three winners will receive various prizes and will be invited to participate in a workshop where they will ultimately be granted an opportunity to make a solid mark in the industry.

“This comes as one of the most exhilarating life-changing experiences for anyone out there,” Homecoming Events managing director Athabile Ngxamngxa said. “It’s beyond just having your talent seen and heard. You’re empowered to be and do more, with valuable career guidance, relevant knowledge and the correct tools to significantly kick-start your career.”

Performing artists and DJs stand a chance to win cash prizes, a career development package, courtesy of TuneCore, and embedded merchandise. They will also receive a Homecoming Events and Zanzou performance package and legal services from Tailor Made Legal Solutions, among others.

“The Artist On The Rise initiative was established as an initiative to assist artists with grappling the challenges of the industry,” Ngxamngxa said. “It realises the power of the African youth in influencing and shifting culture. We’ve seen the blow-up of many artists who were once upcoming and we are confident that there’s still so much more that the industry can benefit from.”
