Call for entries: Hans Zimmer music video contest
Sony Music, in partnership with YouTube, is inviting all video makers to enter its global video production contest and create an original music video using a classic composition from German film-score composer Hans Zimmer’s album The World of Hans Zimmer.
- Hans Zimmer.
The five compositions from the album include 'Gladiator Orchestra Suite: Part 3', 'Now We Are Free', 'Inception: Time – Orchestra Version', 'The Da Vinci Code Orchestral Suite: Part 4', 'The Dark Knight Orchestra Suite' and 'The Lion King Orchestra Suite'. One winner will be selected from each category.
Zimmer is a multi-award-winning composer and record producer, whose works are notable for integrating electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements. Since the 1980s, he has composed music for more than 150 films, including The Lion King, the Pirates of the Caribbean series and Interstellar, among others.
“We are delighted to host this competition alongside one of the greatest composers of today and YouTube,” Sony Music Entertainment Germany CEO Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba said. “We wish all talents out there the best of luck.”
The director of YouTube Music Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Dan Chalmers, said: “This is an amazing and very unique project. We are happy that one of the best composers out there is connecting with our YouTube community and I can’t wait to see the creative outcome. I think almost everybody knows Hans' music from a visit in the cinema and was touched.”
