Call for participants: Grant proposal writing workshops
Goethe-Institut is calling on players in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) to apply for its grant proposal writing workshops.
The interactive workshop, titled Grant Application Made Easy – The Support You Need for Your Next CCI Grant Application, is open to artists operating mainly in the music, fashion, design and animation sectors.
As part of its Jenga CCI programme, Goethe-Institut is implementing two workshops to help a significant part of this process, specifically applying for grants and project resources, to help demystify and simplify it.
The programme will teach participants the theory behind a good application, along with tips and tricks for this challenging undertaking.
Interested CCI practitioners must have a real grant opportunity as part of their workshop application. This could be a previous application or a pending one they would like to submit. Successful applicants will develop and evaluate this real application during the workshop as part of their practical learning process.
Within two sessions, which will take place in February and March, this masterclass will allow successful applicants to take a deep dive into understanding the process of creating a compelling proposal for grant and funding applications within the CCI sector.
In seven sessions, the participants will be guided from mapping their own ambition and work history, to understanding and identifying potential projects and probable aligned funders. Further, successful applicants will learn how to point out the values of their proposed project, define and refine alignment with their ideal applications, compile and pitch a compelling and convincing proposal, and understand how the assessment of the developed proposals is done.
The first workshop will be held online from 20 February to 1 March 2023, while the second session will be an in-person session in Nairobi, Kenya, from 20 March to 29 March. The workshops will be facilitated in English.
Interested participants can apply here.
The application deadline is 10 February.
Jenga CCI falls under the Cultural and Creative Industries project implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in cooperation with Goethe-Institut.
The Cultural and Creative Industries project seeks to improve employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries, namely Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal and South Africa. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project also aims to strengthen the framework conditions of the CCI ecosystem.
