Call for proposals: Queer Encounters in African Feminisms
The Goethe-Institut network in sub-Saharan Africa invites African artists, collectives and creative practitioners from the continent to create digital creative projects that can be displayed on the House of African Feminisms (HoAF) website and resource.
HoAF will fund projects up to €1 000. Artists are invited to explore novel perspectives on feminisms centred on the inclusion of queer perspectives and what that looks, sounds or reads like.
For this grant, the organisers are looking for photographic essays, reportages, short films, video works, documentaries and podcasts that question/engage queer feminism on the African continent.
Submission
- Participant’s concept (max two pages or a video teaser of no more than two minutes).
- Biography or CV.
- Budget plan (eligible items: travel and research costs, material costs, fees).
- What the participant’s medium will likely be.
- Any three links of the artists’ work or portfolio that is relevant to the application.
Timelines
- Application deadline: 14 July at 5pm. Late submissions will not be considered.
- Successful participants will be notified during the launch of the website on 23 July.
Project expectations
- Provide PR material for the project communication.
- All aspects/reporting of the project to be completed by 1 October.
- Submission of project, including complete (narrative) financial reports etc. until 1 October.
