Call for submissions: Young Urban Performances festival in Germany

The organisers seek submissions around the topic of Pleasure. “We are looking: for pleasure (activists), intimacy, closeness and sexiness. We long for touch, for bodily fluids and frictions,” the organisers said.

“We want to feel pleasure, devote ourselves and let go. We are hungry, desiring and shameless. We want to understand nudity and eroticism as a means of expression, to rebel against sexist, heteronormative and racialising attributions, and as a political issue against internalised and lived established structures in intimate relationships.”

The submissions could take the following formats:

• Performances
• Video performances
• Performative installations

Requirements

• Portfolio complete with photos and/or videos.
• Link for additional files, which should be sent via WeTransfer, Google Drive, etc. The files should be available until 15th January.
• Concept note of the applicant’s work.

YUP will offer selected applicants the following:

• A modest honorarium.
• Travel and accommodation to the festival.
• The selected works will be rewarded and we will pay for travel and accommodation expenses.
