DJ Qness - On Cue Volume 3

Qness makes his return with the third instalment of his On Cue series. And for his growing legion of fans, this latest work is worth the wait. Starting off on a mellow note with a cover of Corinne Bailey Rae's 'Trouble Sleeping', the album steadily gains momentum, leading up to dancefloor numbers like 'You'. Because of this it's sure to get you ready for a big night out, or get the party started right at home.

Qness shows off his rocking production skills, relying heavily on African beats and sultry vocal melodies. He checks all the boxes with this release, serving up slick, soulful beats with smooth transitions. He also finds the right mix of international accessibility and homegrown inspiration, striking the right balance between live instrumentation and studio production.

Besides the radio singles 'Everything' and 'Look Inside', other highlights on this album include a collab with Oliver Mtukudzi ('Hatida Hondo'), as well as the powerful 'Avulekile Amasango' (ft. Lundi, Ishmael and Afroboyz) and the R&B-flavoured 'Calling' ft. Moneoa.

QNess - aka Qhubani Ndlovu - doesn't try to re-invent the wheel here, but for fans of slick Afro-house grooves, On Cue Vol. 3 will definitely not disappoint. South African house music is reaching new heights around the world, and QNess is one of the men to take it there.
