eSwatini: Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival announces initial line-up
The organisers of the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival have announced the first batch of artists who will perform at the 2022 edition of the event at House on Fire in Malkerns, eSwatini, from 30 September to 1 October.
The artists include South Africans Zakes Bantwini, Ami Faku, Shane Cooper & MABUTA and Nhlonipho & Kekelingo. They will be joined by local artists Oriiginelle, Uncle Karly, Tengesihle, Gcobani, DJ MBO and Msimisi as well as Lura (Cape Verde) and Radjha Ali (Mozambique).
“There are more artists announcements in store, particularly given Luju’s Food & Lifestyle focus. Expect our culinary and fashion programmes to be revealed shortly,” festival director Jiggs Thorne said.
Launched in 2017 by the MTN Bushfire team of event organisers, the festival features music, fashion, culinary exploits, craft beverages and whisky tasting. The event, which brings the Bushfire ethos of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility, will also host artisans, chefs, wineries, breweries and restaurants.
“The event is a unique celebration of the tastes, smells, sights and sounds of eSwatini and surrounds and is a sensory experience unlike any other,” Thorne said. “It is an aspirational event in an intimate setting where foodies, culture buffs and travellers alike can interact with a range of lifestyle activations currently trending within the context of food, fashion and music.”
The festival is also offering trading opportunities for the Luju Food Garden, Luju Fashion Café, Luju Bee Hive and the Marketing Activation Space.
Interested vendors can apply here before 15 August. Tickets to the festival can be purchased here.
