Kenya: Ndegz back with Creep featuring Abbas Kubaff
Kenyan Afropop singer and producer Ndegz is back with a new track titled ‘Creep’ featuring hip hop pioneer Abbas Kubaff.
The dancehall-infused track – now available for streaming and download – delves into the moral conflict of pursuing a new love interest while in a committed relationship.
“This is a song about the moral dilemma of infidelity. It’s a sensitive issue within society but it happens and many people can relate to it,” Ndegz said. “I started off with a bass line and an udu drum loop and found myself singing ‘Creep’. I dived into the vision and from there wrote the whole song.
He added: “After six years without a release, it’s humbling to see fans still loving and connecting with my music over the years. I want to thank you all for riding with me.”
About working with Abbas Kubaff, Ndegz said: “I met him by chance at an event and told him I’ve been a fan since his days as a member of rap group K-South. I told him I would love to work with him someday and on the spur of the moment, we went straight to the studio and that’s how ‘Creep’ was made.”
Ndegz burst onto the Kenyan music scene after appearing on Madtraxx’s hit ‘Skamaress’ in 2011. His singles include ‘Twende Nyumbani’, ‘Kuruka’ and ‘Balaa’.
