Kenya: Nikita Kering lands Fenty Beauty deal
Nikita Kering has landed the Kenyan brand ambassador role for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, which is set to be officially launched in Africa on 27 May.
The 20-year-old singer shared the news on Wednesday, revealing her excitement about the opportunity to work with one of the biggest brands in the beauty and cosmetics industry, which will be initially unveiled in select African countries.
The company said on social media: “The wait is finally over. Africa, we are pulling up! Who's ready? We've been working to make this happen.”
The products will be launched in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia and Zimbabwe before they start retailing in other African countries, with Rihanna herself stating her wish to see her products, first launched in September 2017, being embraced across the continent.
“Every launch is exciting – we're all about being reachable to everyone, everywhere,” Rihanna said. “But launching across Africa not only feels really significant to me on a personal level, but it is also a big step towards our goal of bringing Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin to the whole world.
“I am a proud Bajan who also feels a close connection to Africa and its people. I’ve had the pleasure, and the privilege, to spend time on the continent and those experiences never leave you.”
Last year, Forbes estimated Fenty Beauty’s worth at $2.8bn.
