Mozambique: Yaba Buluku Boyz drop debut album Donsa
Mozambican music trio Yaba Buluku Boyz has released its 15-track debut album titled Donsa, which is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms.
Some of the featured songs include ‘Billions’, ‘Sontwene’, ‘Tsunami’ and ‘Away’. The album, released under Geobek Records, was produced by DJ Tárico and is the first project from the group this year.
The album follows the release of ‘Navela’ featuring Jux (Tanzania), ‘Lala’ featuring Harmonize (Tanzania) and ‘Mandlozi’ featuring Iyanya (Nigeria).
“The celebration of African unity is here,” Geobek Records said. “The team is proud to introduce Donsa to the world, the first studio album from its flagship stars, Yaba Buluku Boyz.”
The Yaba Buluku Boyz, composed of DJ Tárico, Nelson Tivane, and Preck, is a distinguished musical ensemble that has made remarkable contributions to the music industry, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of Mozambique. Its unique sound and performance style reflects the diversity of Mozambican music traditions, serving as a bridge to connect communities and celebrate Africa’s shared heritage. Since their debut as a group in 2021, the three have collaborated with the likes of Burna Boy, Falz, Yemi Alade, Iyanya, Harmonize, Crayon and Jah Prayzah, among others.
Aside from earning nominations from reputable awards schemes like AFRIMA, the group has performed at various events and festivals across and beyond the continent.
