Open call: MUSIGA 50th anniversary logo design competition
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is inviting submissions for its logo competition ahead of its 50th anniversary next year.
Incorporated in December 1975, the trade organisation operates to “promote and preserve Ghanaian culture through education and equipping the Ghanaian musician to be self-reliant, creative and industrious.”
The call is open to all professional and amateur designers. Interested creatives must incorporate ‘MUSIGA at 50’ or ‘50 Years of MUSIGA’ in their design.
To participate, interested applicants may email designs to accramusiga@gmail.com.
Requirements:
- Logo should symbolise MUSIGA’s history, legacy, and contributions to Ghana’s music industry.
- Designs must be submitted in PDF or PNG format.
- Designers must include their names and contact information in their application.
The submission deadline is 31 July 2024.
In related news, last month, MUSIGA renewed its partnership with SIC Life Insurance, established in 2021, to continue providing coverage for its members. The renewal helps musicians during illness and eases financial burdens on families. MUSIGA president Bessa Simons, highlighted the importance of protection against unexpected emergencies.
“For a long time, MUSIGA has been aiming for insurance that supports the welfare of members so I was so glad when we got a call from SIC Life,” Simons said when the policy was first rolled out in 2021. “We believe our numbers will grow and more members will sign on.”
