Open call: Ntwala Oh Yeah! festival 2024 in Angola
Konono Soul Arts, the organiser of the Ntwala Oh Yeah! festival in Luanda, Angola, is accepting applications from artists ahead of the 2024 edition scheduled for June 28, 29 and 30.
Ntwala Oh Yeah! is a multidisciplinary cultural initiative aimed at providing resources for the independent development of artists, fostering a sustainable and long-term creative community.
The festival encompasses various artistic disciplines including music, dance, literature, visual arts and the spoken word, with Angolan artist A'mosi Just a Label as its music curator.
Additionally, it will feature book launches, talks and workshops while offering opportunities for networking and tourism. It targets artists, cultural organisations, journalists, technicians and arts consultants, among others.
“The aim of the festival is to promote and highlight emerging artists, offering them a platform to perform, both locally and internationally,” the organisers said. “Furthermore, the event seeks to create opportunities for exchange and collaboration between artists, through a programme that involves the creative space. It is a community project that also came to life to help expand the reach and visibility of artists, giving them the opportunity to share their work with a wider audience.”
