Pheelz’s hit Finesse gets East African remix
Months after it was released to massive global reception, Pheelz’s hit ‘Finesse’ looks set to continue dominating the music charts after getting a remake.
For the latest remix of the track, the Nigerian Afrobeats musician teams up with Tanzanian bongo sensation Rayvanny and Burundian singer Theecember to give the chart topper an East African spin.
Just days after the track’s release on 1 July, the internet has already gone into overdrive as fans rush to sample and share the track.
The original, featuring Nigerian Afro-fusion star BNXN (formerly known as Buju), became a viral anthem after spending 13 weeks on the UK Afrobeats Chart where it peaked at No 1. It is currently sitting at No 9 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart.
The track also ranks high on major streaming platforms across Africa, and it features heavily on TikTok content. It is one of the most shazamed records in the world.
In June, Pheelz performed at the 2022 BET Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. He is best known for producing chart-topping records for artists like Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Fireboy DML, DJ Cuppy and Teni.
He released his debut EP Hear Me Out in 2021, with the single ‘Somebody’ spending three weeks on the Billboard Top Triller Global chart where it peaked at No 3.
