Register to attend Sound Connects Fund digital launch
The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF), in partnership with Goethe-Institut South Africa, is inviting cultural and creative industry stakeholders to register to attend the online launch of the Sound Connects Fund on 6 July.
The launch will feature a panel discussion with representatives from the MIAF, Goethe-Institut and the Sound Connects Fund project team.
The €4m Sound Connects Fund is a multifaceted initiative aiming to accelerate development and increase the capacity of the cultural and creative sectors in Southern Africa by offering financial support in the form of different sized grants.
The fund is earmarked for cultural organisations based in Angola, Botswana, eSwatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It will support projects across a wide range of disciplines including performing arts, visual arts, animation, film, gaming, photography and videography, among others.
The launch event on 6 July will inform key stakeholders about this innovative and exciting programme, how it will roll out over the next 40 months and what it aims to achieve. The event will also serve as an opportunity to inform players active in the broader cultural and creative industry sector in Southern Africa about the first call for grants and how they can apply for funding.
The Sound Connects Fund launch will run from 2pm to 3pm CAT via Zoom.
Register here to attend the event. Once registered, further information will be sent to you, including Zoom login details.
