“We’re excited to welcome Brandy to our shores,” MACUFE festival director Mario Sefo said. “It affords us the opportunity to put South Africa’s best side by side with the world's best to reaffirm how world class our local talent is.
“First and foremost, MACUFE is about celebrating arts and culture originating in Mangaung and giving these skilled individuals working in performance spaces a major platform to showcase their talent.”
Brandy, who performed in the country in 2013 and 2017, has sold more than 40 million albums throughout her career. She is expected to perform songs from the albums Brandy, Never Say Never, Full Moon, Afrodisiac, Human and Two Eleven.
Known for showcasing African and international talent, MACUFE was launched by the Free State provincial government in 1997. Besides music, the festival features an arts and crafts exhibition, theatre productions, a beauty pageant and the Sparta Macufe Cup, a football competition at Free State Stadium.
Tickets to the event will go on sale on 7 September via the Computicket official website.
