US rapper Gunna receives multi-platinum and gold plaques in SA
The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) has certified US rapper Gunna with multi-platinum and gold plaques.
Gunna’s second studio album, WUNNA, has been certified platinum, while his singles ‘fukumean’ and ‘pushin P’ have earned double platinum and platinum certifications, respectively.
The artist received gold certifications for singles: ‘Dollaz on My Head’ featuring Young Thug, ‘Drip or Drown’, ‘Met Gala’, ‘One of Wun’, ‘P Power’, ‘Prada Dem’, ‘Solid’ featuring Duke, ‘Who You Foolin’ and ‘Sold Out Dates’ featuring Lil Baby.
The plaques were presented to Gunna by Warner Music Africa senior marketing manager Ayanda Mnguni, to underscore rapper’s growing influence in the region and his deep connection with South African audiences.
The milestone cements Gunna’s impact on the South African music scene, further strengthening his relationship with fans and the industry. His connection with the country runs deep following his recent collaboration with global Afropop sensation Tyla on a single titled ‘Jump’. Previously, Gunna filmed the music video for the chart-topping single ‘Jump’ in Johannesburg and immersed himself in the city’s vibrant nightlife, making stops at some of its most iconic clubs.
While Gunna’s accolades took centre stage, his return to South Africa also included a high-energy performance at Heineken House, where he delivered a show-stopping set. Performing to a packed arena, Gunna real name Sergio Giavanni Kitchens ran through his catalogue of hits, including the chart-smashing ‘fukumean’ and the anthemic ‘pushin P’. Fans sang along to every word, turning the night into a celebration of music, connection, and culture.
More than just an event, Heineken House is shaping up to be a cultural landmark in 2025. Designed to celebrate the intersection of music, art, and fashion, Heineken House is setting a new standard for cultural experiences. With Gunna headlining alongside a stellar line-up of South Africa’s most exciting talents, the platform is redefining how global and local artistry collide.
Heineken House also featured standout performances from Young Stunna, DBN Gogo, Morda, Maglera Doe Boy, Dee Koala, and 25K, making the night a true fusion of local and global excellence.
