Warner Music partners with TagMix music video app
UK music video app TagMix has struck a licensing deal with Warner Music Group (WMG).
The company says its app allows users to capture visuals of live events such as gigs, festivals and clubs, and enhances them by replacing the audio with a “real-time, pro-quality audio stream, straight from the mixing desk on stage”.
The app also improves user-generated content (UGC) and makes it ready for sharing on social media, allowing promoters, venues, creators and labels to benefit from shareable UGC videos, TagMix said. It identifies as many tracks as possible for the user and stores them in a playlist with links to stream or download the songs on services like Spotify and Deezer.
TagMix will also get access to a selection of WMG’s artists as part of the deal.
“We are thrilled that Warner Music Group has come on board at what is a pivotal time for the business,” TagMix CEO Andy Dean said. “Given that live events have been severely impacted by the recent pandemic, we are very much looking forward to being able to work hand-in-hand with WMG and its artists to both expand our offering in the gig scene and to offer greater value to both musicians and fans”.
The partnership adds to TagMix’s list of strategic deals this year, including the UK’s Music Venue Trust and rights-tracking company BMAT.
TagMix has partnered with top international festivals and brands around the world such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, The O2, ADE, Coca-Cola, International Music Summit, and Ibiza Rocks, among others.
