Nigeria’s Adekunle Gold to tour North America
Nigerian Afropop star Adekunle Gold has announced a tour of North America in support of his latest album Catch Me If You Can from 2 June to 8 July.
Produced by Live Nation and Duke Concept, the tour will see the ‘High’ star on the road in 19 cities across the US and Canada, including Big Night Live in Boston and the Apollo Theater in Manhattan. Other destinations include Toronto, Denver and Edmonton.
Catch Me If You Can was released on Afro Urban Records via Platoon in February, arriving as his fourth LP after Gold, About 30 and AfroPop Vol. 1. Nestled in Afrobeats, with a nod to amapiano, Catch Me If You Can comprises 14 songs including the singles ‘It Is What It Is’, ‘Sinner’ featuring Lucky Daye. The project has also incorporated an array of international talent such as Ty Dolla $ign and Fousheé (US), Stefflon Don (UK) and Fatoumata Diawara (Mali).
“I think of my whole discography as an adventure game,” Adekunle Gold said about the album. “My limitations are done, and I am living even through my music. I want everyone who listens to this album, fan or not, to understand my story, embrace their own and be fearlessly committed to living life with no regrets.”
Tickets go on sale starting 8 April here.
