BandLab launches music promotion tool Boost
Social music-making platform BandLab has launched a new tool for promoting music called Boost which will let users turn their posts into featured ads that can reach wider audiences within the network, among other features.
The tool is being rolled out for both mobile and web platforms globally, and will offer two options: boosting by individual post or boosting an entire profile. The subscription fee for the former option starts from $1, and it allows artists to gain more likes, plays and interactions from a single payment.
The more advanced second option boosts the complete profile of an artist. It comes with additional opportunities through ReverbNation like a chance for editorial coverage, exposure to record labels, and more. This plan also allows creators to use analytics tools throughout their campaign with Boost Insights, where they can analyse performance by monitoring engagement and impression metrics of their ads.
After selecting a suitable option, the company said, the boost will be active in days. Through the new feature, BandLab creators have the potential to reach millions of users within the BandLab network which officially hit 50 million subscribers in June.
“We’ve seen some exciting developments in the BandLab community,” BandLab co-founder and CEO Meng Ru Kuok said. “From independent artist Duncan Daniels’ feature in The FADER as part of BandLab Opportunities, to BandLab user d4vd’s single hitting the charts on Billboard’s Hot 100 and recent signing to Darkroom/Interscope Records. We’re devoted to continuous artist growth and development through BandLab, however the artist imagines their journey.”
The new promotional tool forms part of the free DAW’s long-term vision to break down barriers to making and sharing music for artists and fans.
