Coke Studio Africa unveils producers for 2019 edition
Coke Studio Africa has unveiled the producers who will make an appearance in the popular TV series' upcoming season.
The producers have already started working with more than 25 African artists at the Coke Studio Africa headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, before the pre-recorded season begins airing in February.
Most of the selected producers are making make their debut on the show, apart from Zimbabwe's Young DLC who will appear for a third time. Nigeria's GospelOnDeBeatz returns to Coke Studio Africa for a second time. He will be seen working with a number of collabo pairs including Winky D (Zimbabwe) and Messias Maricoa (Mozambique), Sheebah (Uganda) and Harmonize (Tanzania), and Skales (Nigeria) and Nandy (Tanzania).
Ethiopian electro wizard DJ Rophnan will make history as the first participant to be selected as both a music producer and performing artist. He will perform alongside Chef 187 (Zambia) and produce all their musical collaborations.
Kenya will be represented by Lizer and Majic Mike. Lizer will produce several artist pairings, including Naiboi (Kenya) and Rayvanny (Tanzania) as well as Fik Fameica (Uganda) and Laylizzy (Mozambique). Majic Mike will produce collaborations between Rudeboy (Nigeria) and Khaligraph Jones (Kenya).
Uganda’s Daddy Andre will work on tunes by King Saha (Uganda) and Yared Negu (Ethiopia), and Lourena Nhate (Mozambique) and Abush Zeleke (Ethiopia).
Coke Studio Africa 2019 will also air a special episode involving some of Africa’s hottest MCs, with debutante Viola Karuri (Kenya) producing Boity (South Africa), Nazizi (Kenya) and Lioness (Namibia).
