DubbLoons

The DubbLoons was formed in 2018, performing under the banner of ‘the Inland Pirate Band’. Their unique style of fun and musicality has made them a hit with young and old. 

All band members are seasoned musicians having played and recorded with many outfits and musical collaborations notably Live Jimi Presley, Them Particles, The UFO Experience, Moseou Ketlele,  Sparky's Magic Piano, Damduikers, Bad Weather. The band comprises of renowned accordion player and multi-instrumentalist Bronwyn Krige together with exceptional multi-instrumentalist and minstrel Brendan Green. The band features Derek Daveys on drums and on bass Juliet Hofmeyr as well as special guests The Lost Souls on horns.

Starting with traditional folk songs and sea shanties, the band has evolved to include some quirky originals along the theme of ships at sail on the sea, deep sea monsters of myth and fable and fishy stories.

"The band brings fun to any occasion and are notorious in their efforts to encourage an audience to ‘balter’ madly at the slightest provocation," said semi-professional race car driver Gerald Buys.

DubbLoons have steadily evolved into an exciting world music hybrid with traditional songs, sounds and instruments mixed with contemporary African and Celtic crossover. The DubbLoons  bring a taste of history and a bygone era into a modern setting with an interactive element that ensures upliftment to all around.
