Call for applications: 2020 MTN Bushfire arts facilitators
MTN Bushfire is calling all artists and creatives to apply to be facilitators at the 2020 edition of its schools festival from 25 to 28 May at House on Fire in eSwatini.
The facilitators will participate in the teacher and student workshops where they will get to teach the arts through performance-related activities.
The 2020 edition will run under the theme Environmental Sustainability and the arts to be taught include physical theatre, poetry, dance and music, among others.
The festival aims to promote the new arts expression syllabus in public schools by presenting creative performances, workshops, educational seminars and interactive outreach programmes.
In collaboration with MTN eSwatini and the EU, the event will raise awareness around environmental issues to highlight the need for collective action in overcoming climate change.
The festival will also intensify the fight against plastic pollution by discouraging the persistent use and importation of single-use plastics at its trading spaces, camping areas and activations.
Applicants can send their CV with a brief concept that details how they would showcase the theme through training and performance-based activities to Notsile Nkambule at projectmanager@bush-fire.com.
The application deadline is 31 January.
