SA: Nkateko Maluleke appointed Open Mic Productions managing director

The Johannesburg-based music company is home to top local artists including Master KG, Makhadzi, Zanda Zakuza, Mr Brown, Prince Benza and Nomcebo Zikode.

Maluleke joins the company’s co-founders, Molau Rammala and Lionel Jamela. He brings a wealth of experience to the position. He holds an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and a master’s degree in entrepreneurship and new venture creations from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. He was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2013, nine years after his admission as an attorney of the same court.

Malukeke is a sought-after expert who has served in various capacities for different organisations. He was legal and compliance advisor in the marketing and communications division at Absa bank, legal and business development manager at Primedia, head of legal and business affairs at Universal Music and head of stakeholder relations at the Southern African Music Rights Organisation. He is a non-executive director at African Communications and a former board member of the Recording Industry of South Africa and the South African Music Performance Rights Association.
