ACCES adds more top music industry pros to 2022 edition
The Music In Africa Foundation is pleased to announce a new batch of speakers for the Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES), slated for 24, 25 and 26 November in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Registrations for ACCES 2022 are now open on a first-come, first-served basis. African delegates register for free.
ACCES will bring a diverse cohort of music industry players together under one roof, including talent manager and the founder of Stargaze Company Limited, Sandra Brown (Tanzania), and the founder of talent management company and record label Vth Season, Raphael Benza (South Africa), who manages a number of big names in the South African music space including AKA, Ami Faku, Manu WorldStar and Benny Afroe, among others.
The speakers will be joined digital music professionals including The Orchard’s artist and label relations executive for East Africa, Beth Achitsa (Kenya), and Byta founder Marc Brown (Sweden), whose platform specialises in audio sharing.
IKS Consulting managing director Andre le Roux (South Africa) is another highly respected industry player confirmed for ACCES 2022. Le Roux is a leading consultant and operator in the African cultural and creative industries, boasting more than 20 years’ experience in arts management and administration. He was the managing director of the SAMRO Foundation under the Southern African Music Rights Organisation and is currently implementing Concerts SA, a joint South African/Norwegian project working with musicians, promoters, venues and institutions to grow a viable live music circuit in southern Africa.
Meanwhile, record producer Stephan Eicke (UK/Germany) will make his return to ACCES to lead a workshop on film in music, TV and other media. ACCES will announce more details about Eicke’s workshop soon.
Featuring a dynamic pool of local and international speakers, businesses and showcasing artists, ACCES offers a strong conference programme that includes industry talks, pitch and networking sessions, workshops, exhibitions, awards and music performances.
Nine showcasing acts have been announced to date, including SinaUbi Zawose (Tanzania), Oumar Konaté (Mali), Flying Bantu (Zimbabwe), Joyce Babatunde (Cameroon), Naïnako (Madagascar), Vitali Maembe & Watupa Mawe (Tanzania), TaraJazz Zanzibar (Tanzania), Tofa Jaxx (Tanzania) and Kalam La Reine du Kundé (Burkina Faso).
