Uganda: Eddy Kenzo unveils new album
Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo has released his fifth album.
The much anticipated Biology album was unveiled at various online music stores this week. Kenzo began work on the 27-track album late last year, collaborating with a number African musicians.
Kenzo features South African band Mi Casa on ‘Movie Star’, Jamaican reggae-dancehall artist Alaine on ‘Addicted’, Kenyan gospel singer Bahati on ‘Barua’, Rwandese gospel and R&B singer Mani Martin on ‘Afro’ and Congolese singer Werrason on ‘Malembe’.
Kenzo could not hide his excitement about his latest release and posted the news on Facebook. “The album is coming out today. Are you ready?” he wrote on Monday.
Biology is the singer’s fifth album, a follow-up to his 2016 offering Zero to Hero. Kenzo released his first album, Stamina, in 2010.
Kenzo’s latest release comes five days after the 2015 BET Award winner bagged four gongs at the inaugural edition of the Uganda Music Awards (TUMA) at Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday. Kenzo won awards for Artist of the Year, Best Male Artist, Best Urban, and Song of the Year– four of the seven categories in which he was nominated.
“This is our year as I said in January, I hope your remember. We won Best East African video in Zanzibar music festival. And we have been nominated in all African music awards this year. Let's keep going no matter what some people say, we the best guys bless up,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Kenzo has been on his European tour since 10 July, which was expected to end yesterday.
