The Moshito Music Conference & Exhibition in South Africa has announced the appointment of local hip hop artist Nadia Nakai and maskandi musician Ihhashi Elimhlophe as official ambassadors for this year’s event.
The announcement, a statement says, underscores Moshito’s commitment to showcasing the rich diversity of African music, bridging traditional and modern sounds. Nakai and Elimhlophe were chosen for their significant contributions to the African music landscape.
“We are honoured to have Ihashi Elimhlophe and Nadia Nakai as our ambassadors for Moshito 2024,” Moshito Music Conference & Exhibition chairperson Stanley Khoza said. “They embody the blend of modernity and tradition that defines African music today.”
Nakai expressed her enthusiasm about the appointment, stating: “This platform is about pushing boundaries and giving African artists the space to explore new opportunities while staying true to our roots.”
Echoing the sentiment, Elimhlophe emphasised Moshito’s role in preserving the African music legacy: “Moshito is not just a conference, it’s a movement. It’s about ensuring that the stories and sounds of Africa continue to thrive.”
