African artists confirmed for Coachella 2023
Coachella festival has released the line-up of artists who will perform at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, this April.
African artists who are scheduled to play at the popular American festival are Uncle Waffles (South Africa), Kyle Watson (South Africa) and Burna Boy (Nigeria).
Coachella will take place over two weekends – 14 to 16 April and 21 to 23 April – and will be headlined by Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK and Frank Ocean.
Uncle Waffles, who has become a formidable force in the South African amapiano scene, shared the Coachella line-up poster on socials with the caption, “crying….vomiting….screaming.”
Other notable acts performing at this year’s edition include The Chemical Brothers, Gorillaz, Björk, Labrinth, Kaytranada and Blondie, among many others.
Coachella tickets go on sale on 13 January, with a limited number of tickets remaining for the first weekend.
