Brymo to join Nigerian rapper Naeto C at Afropolitan Vibes
Organisers of the monthly Lagos concert Afropolitan Vibes have confirmed the performance of Nigerian singer Brymo on 18 December. The ‘Ara’ singer, who is performing at the concert for the second time, will be sharing the Freedom Park stage with rapper Naeto C and soul singer Ayo Awosika.
This edition brings an end to the 2015 run of AV concerts. The concert has brought some of the most important names in African music, past and present, and in multiple genres. Ghana’s Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Senegal’s Didier Awadi have played to the concert’s enthusiastic and engaged audience.
Local stars Burna Boy and Timi Dakolo have entertained at the Lagos Island venue. The concert has welcomed rappers MI and Jesse Jagz; has invited singers Waje and Ruby Gyang. Old timers Ras Kimono, Oritz Wiliki and Salawa Abeni have brought their tunes to a new audience.
For the year’s last edition, the organisers have promised “a very special show”. An earlier announced artist, Sir Shina Peters, will now be featured as the first headliner in the new year.
“Shina Peters,” the organisers posted on their Facebook page, “will perform at our January 2016 show instead of this December's show because of an unavoidable scheduling conflict. Joining us instead will be one of the most popular artists we had at Afropolitan Vibes this year - Brymo.”
They added: “To mark our last concert of 2015, we also have a couple of surprise performances in store for you.”
The December 2015 edition of Afropolitan Vibes holds 18 December. Venue: Freedom Park, Lagos.
